MG's latest development in plasma torch protection is the SureStop. It provides magnetic collision protection while holding the torch rigidly in place during normal cutting operations. The system works with permanent magnets, eliminating the possibility of failure typical in pneumatic or powered torch protection devices. Magnets are also unaffected by heat from thermal cutting.
When a collision occurs, the machine stops and the cutting process is shut off, protecting the torch from damage due to programming errors, obstructions on the cutting table, and improper material positioning.
The SureStop's unique design protects in extreme conditions on todays high speed cutting machines where other popular pneumatic "puck" style systems bind and break.
The SureStop protects in the X, Y and Z-axes. After a collision, torch resetting is reliable, consistent, and fast. It utilizes unique fixture points to ensure repeatable accurate alignment. Available for use with MG's PL-1 lifter, the SureStop is available on all of MG's popular plasma systems that use the PL-1.
